I’M IN THIS PHOTO. hehehe :3
Michael and Shirley had the blessing of staying on in Ireland for 2 more days, which were spent with Jim and Laura Pettit - our brand new missionaries to Ireland. We enjoyed a great walk on the Saturday, near a place called “Dun Learey” - well that’s how we spell it in our minds.

Jim and Laura have a wonderful flat near to the centre of Dublin which became our home for the next few days. It is located in the Smithfield region, an older part of town with a very strong art’s presence. Their flat is just above an area on the street where the council is putting in a “Third Space” - you’ll have to ask Jim what that is. We’re sure the Pettit’s will find that a very attractive place for their love of the arts. Below if a shot from their balcony, taken just after we had worshiped at Abbey Church, central Dublin.

As a team, we were excited to be on the last day. We heard a number of children in the morning tell us they wanted to make Jesus their closest friend and we are grateful for the Holy Spirit’s working in their lives. Our prayer is that there will be fruit from this.

The evening program on the last day with the youth was a blast. Quay set up a competition and the judges played their part.

Michele gave the final talk of the week to the youth and you could have heard a pin drop - everyone was taking it in, as she talked about the impact of Jesus on her life.

The final topping came when during “interview time”one of the youth stated that he had come to the Lord just 2 days ago. Wow! And this was a person who had been asking lots of questions of various members of the team, both now and back in April when our youth came to Ireland. Praise the Lord that this is the work of God and we are allowed to be a participate in His kingdom’s work.

Martin (aka Quay) was willing to undergo a transformation.

The end result was quite stunning as Martin walked down the hall parading off his new self image - great job Martin!
One of the great secrets of the Commonwealth countries is the habit of having custard with just about anything. Which leads one to think of using it in a game.

This time, Reuben, our fearless leader finishes his first but not before having custard thrown at him by another blind folded fellow.
Libby, who does acting and cooking really can’t let a drop of this stuff go

But we want to warn you that custard is not for everyone, and has been known to drive some people crazy when they have too much

What happens when you have 60 youth in a room? Well it’s enough to pull your hair, but in this case, it actually happened! So with a nice sweet smile she asks a simple question.

But oh no, he gets it wrong, so its …

Off with the hair. It seemed painless enough to all of us who were watching ..

But I guess it can hurt just a bit - especially when you realize the end result

I guess some of us feel pain more than others, but for some reason Carl didn’t seem to take in the seriousness of the event

Well, not until he got another question wrong - this time, what day of the week was Feb 15th 1932 - I guess without internet access it was too much to ask

I guess some girls can be brutal - or at least that seems to have been the theme of the evening.

Some people can’t help jumping for joy when they get together whether it be inside

or outside or into the evening. We think that Martin (Quay) has rubber legs!

Pirates ahoy - the stage is set for the arrival of pirates who are searching for hidden treasure. The children are rivetted by the scene of ships, desert islands, treasure maps and action on the stage. And before you can say “Jack Robinson” up pops Mary Lynne to teach the weeks Bible passage (some of the treasure the pirates have been looking for).

The start of the morning activities -
Before the other musicians arrive, Martin and Michael get a chance to prepare the Landlubbers Pirate song that is used as the theme for the week.

Wearing his NCF VBS teeshirt Martin enjoys a spot of sun (rare in these parts) as he he paints with some of the other helpers from Northern Ireland as well as some from Lucan that he met when he was here in April.
